Ingredient spotlight:
Bisabolol: This natural ingredient helps soothe and calm unhappy, irritated skin. It promoted skin healing and can also help other ingredients better penetrate the skin. This combination makes alpha bisabolol a great option for acne treatment products. Alpha bisabolol is a well-known penetration enhancer. This means that its unique chemical makeup helps it penetrate more deeply into the skin, delivering other nutrients, minerals, antioxidants, and hydrating products further into the skin. It can help soothe skin irritation and inflammation, and has analgesic (pain relieving) properties. It’s believed that this ingredient can stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes, including collagen turnover. While alpha bisabolol alone is not enough to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, it’s often found alongside other skin protectant ingredients in sunscreens and “after-sun” products, because it helps protect against sun damage and stimulates healing after UV exposure
Jojoba Seed Oil: benefits for skin include its moisturising properties that are not too dissimilar from the natural oils your skin produces. This helps to provide hydrating moisture that does not feel like a thick layer left on the skin, it works in tandem with the natural oils your skin produces. Jojoba oil is naturally an antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal substance, and this makes it ideal for a number of skin conditions. jojoba oil contains natural Vitamin E, a well-known antioxidant. This means it helps to prevent damage to the skin caused by free radicals such as pollution, while also boosting skin complexion by discouraging the oxidisation of things like oil, which helps to prevent clogged pores and blemishes. Helps balance out sebum & does not clog your pores - jojoba oil is similar to sebum, which is the natural oil produced by our bodies. As jojoba oil is similar to this naturally occurring substance, when applied, the skin believes it has produced enough oil which prevents to production of more oils on the skin. Jojoba oil for oily skin is a powerful ingredient that will work wonders. Research shows the jojoba oil binds with your skin when damage has been caused to it, providing a protective coating while aiding the repair of these separated skin cells. Has long been used as an anti-inflammatory for dry, itchy, or sensitive skin. It moisturises while providing the skin with a nutrient rich substance to soothe. The soothing balm like qualities of jojoba oil help to soothe skin that has been damaged by the sun, and the vitamin E properties help to absorb UVB light as a type of extra protective barrier for the sun from the sun. Reduces wrinkles - this is because jojoba oil is an excellent moisturiser which helps to fade deep set wrinkles and fine lines.
Lilly Pilly: Containing a high content of Vitamin C & fruit acids, its astringent properties help to regenerate & protect skin cells. Lilly Pilly is an excellent promoter in the production of collagen & elastin, working to visibly firm & brighten the overall appearance of the skin.
Macadamia Seed Oil: Carefully sourced from the pulp of the macadamia nut, it is pressed into a luscious elixir. Amazing for all skin types, the oil is rich in potent antioxidants, and essential fatty acids – it is packed with insane amounts of palmitoleic acid, 22%, an essential fatty acid that decreases in content as skin ages, making macadamia a true superfood for your skin. Not only is it a fantastic moisturiser for targeting dry skin conditions, it’s powerful anti-inflammatory properties help to calm and soothe sensitive skin, it is also great for mature skin types and can help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Other than squalene and jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil is the closest match to the naturally occurring sebum found in your skin – it is easily absorbed and it won’t clog your pores, which makes it great if you suffer from breakouts and acne-prone skin, the fact that it is anti-inflammatory, means it will also help with acne breakouts that are inflamed. macadamias essential fatty acids include oleic acid 54-60% which is extremely moisturising and anti-inflammatory, making it perfect for dry and sensitive skin types. Linoleic acid 3% restores the skin’s barrier function and keeps skin hydrated by reducing trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL). Palmitoleic acid 22% is a building block in our skin, helping to prevent burns, wounds, and skin scratches, and is an active anti-microbial. Phytosterols act as penetration enhancers, delivering the important ingredients into the deepest layers of your skin.
